Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026 · BarsAndBands.com
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BarsAndBands.com — including browsing the site, creating an account, or subscribing to any paid plan — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
These terms apply to all users: bars, venues, bands, musicians, and anyone else who accesses the site.
2. The Service
BarsAndBands.com is an online marketplace that connects bars and music venues with bands and musicians. We provide tools to help bars discover talent and bands find gigs — including browsing profiles, sending booking requests, and automated social media announcements.
Important: BarsAndBands.com facilitates introductions and connections. We are not a party to any booking agreement between a bar and a band. All contracts, payments, and arrangements for live performances are made directly between the venue and the artist.
We operate as a product of Holland AI Consulting, Yorkville, IL.
3. User Accounts
To access most features, you'll need to create an account. When you do:
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
- One account per person or business entity — no duplicate profiles
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these terms.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
BarsAndBands.com operates on a monthly subscription model:
- Price: $50/month for bars and $50/month for bands
- Payment processor: All payments are handled securely by Stripe. We never store your card number.
- Billing: You'll be billed at the start of each billing cycle
- No refunds: Once a billing cycle has started, that month is non-refundable
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through your account settings. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period — no mid-cycle shutoffs
Platform credits (e.g. from referrals) apply toward subscription fees only and are not redeemable for cash.
5. Referral Program
We offer a referral program to reward members who grow the BarsAndBands community:
- Credit per referral: $50 in platform credit for each successful referral (referred person must sign up and complete their first paid month)
- Maximum credit: You can earn up to 6 referral credits ($300 total)
- How credits work: Credits are applied automatically to your next subscription billing cycle(s)
- No cash value: Referral credits cannot be converted to cash, transferred, or refunded
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time with reasonable notice to active members.
6. Bookings
BarsAndBands.com helps bars and bands find each other. Here's what that means in practice:
- We provide the platform — we do not set gig fees, manage schedules, or supervise performances
- All booking agreements are made directly between the bar and the band
- We are not responsible for payment disputes, cancellations, no-shows, or any other outcome of a booking
- If a booking goes sideways, that's between the two parties involved
Use good judgment. Vet who you're booking. Confirm details in writing. BarsAndBands.com is not an arbitrator and will not intervene in disputes between bars and bands.
7. Social Media Posting
BarsAndBands.com can post booking announcements to your Facebook Page and linked Instagram account when a gig is confirmed.
- This feature is opt-in — you authorize it by connecting your Facebook Page through our onboarding flow
- By connecting your Facebook/Instagram, you authorize BarsAndBands.com to post on your behalf
- We only post booking-related announcements — we will never post spam, ads, or off-topic content
- You can revoke our access at any time via Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
We use Facebook's official API and comply with Meta's Platform Policies. Your tokens are stored securely and used only for the purpose described above.
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following are not allowed on BarsAndBands.com:
- Fake or misleading profiles — represent yourself and your business accurately
- Spam — don't mass-message other members for anything unrelated to genuine booking inquiries
- Impersonation — don't pretend to be another band, venue, or person
- Illegal content — no content that violates federal, state, or local law
- Harassment or abuse — treat other members professionally
- Platform manipulation — no bots, scrapers, or automated tools targeting our platform without written permission
- Reselling access — your subscription is for your use only
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that:
- Violates these Terms of Service
- Engages in prohibited conduct
- Provides false registration information
- Fails to pay subscription fees
If your account is terminated for violations, you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your subscription. We'll try to give you a heads-up before terminating unless the violation is severe.
10. Limitation of Liability
BarsAndBands.com is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for damages arising from bookings, cancellations, or disputes between bars and bands
- We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or third-party service failures
- Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Intellectual Property
The BarsAndBands.com platform, branding, and content we create are owned by Holland AI Consulting. You retain ownership of the content you post (band bio, venue description, photos, etc.).
By posting content on BarsAndBands.com, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display that content on the platform for the purpose of running the service.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kendall County, Illinois.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service as the platform evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll notify active members by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
